Having taken a meeting off for 4th of July and General Assembly, Peace Speakers Toastmasters Club staged their lone July meeting July 18. Bastille Day having been recently celebrated (in Paris and elsewhere), the London Summer Olympics looming, and writing the theme of the prepared speech, "A Tale of Two Cities" was a theme for the meeting. Bethany Furkin (pictured above) read from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) "Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study" for the invocation, Ada Middleton (pictured below) led her first business meeting as new Peace Speakers president, Geoff Smith gave a prepared speech from the Communication and Leadership Program manual on writing and thinking, and Eric Darnell led an Olympics-themed Table Topics extemporaneous speaking activity.
